Mukki side of Kanha is closer and is accessible from Raipur. Using this connectivity this is an itinerary that combines two interesting destinations of Chhattisgarh (Bhoramdeo Temples and Bastar Culture / Heritage / Waterfalls ) with Kanha.

 

Amarkantak :

Narmada Udgam - Amarkantak Situated at an altitude of 1065 mt. at the meeting point of the Vindhya and the Satpura mountain ranges, Amarkantak is a pilgrim centre for the Hindus, and is the source of the rivers Narmada and Sone. Narmada Udgam is a temple built at the source of the Narmada - the holiest spot in Amarkantak.

Dudh Dhara and Kapildhara Waterfalls - Dhdh Dhara and Kapil dhara waterfalls are two small waterfalls but attractive waterfalls near Amarkantak. Dudh dhara requires 1 km walk.

Maa Ki Bagiya - A garden at 5 kms from Narmada Udgam. Here some medicinal plants are cultivated and are on display alongwith a fruit orchard.

Achanakmar :

Wildlife and Bird watching at Achanakmar - Achanakmar lies on the Amarkantak - Achanakmar Biosphere Reserve Wildlife here comprise Tiger, Bison, Sambar, Barking Deer, Musk Deer etc. The are also has excellent birds in Winter (Oct - March). Jeep Safaris can be organised inside the area.

Bandhavgarh :

Wildlife and Bird Watching in Bandhavgarh - Bandhavgarh is the best park when it comes to probability of having a tiger sighting. Besides the much celebrated and endangered tiger, the park is home to Leopards, Jungle cat, Wolf, Jackal, Indian Fox, Dhole or Indian Wild Dog, Sloth Bear etc. Bandhavgarh is also considered excellent for Bird watching and is home to more than 150 species.

Bhoramdeo :

Bhoramdeo Temples - Bhoramdeo Temple (7th to 11th century AD) is a very old Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva at 18 km from Kawardha. The temples have picturesque surroundings of mountains and dense forests, a blend of religious and erotic sculptures. The Bhoramdeo temple has a resemblance with the Khajuraho temple, and that is why it is also called the Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh.

Jagdalpur :

Bastar Palace - Bastar Palace is the residence of the royal family and one of the attractions in Jagdalpur. The government has built a monument inside the vicinity where various artifacts and portraits of the royal family are on display.

Anthropological Museum - Anthropological museum provides insight into the culture and lifestyles of Bastar tribes. Some of the collections found at the museum include headgears, footwear, ornaments, musical instruments, dresses, paintings, wood carvings, weapons, masks, art work, sculptures etc.

Dalpat Sagar Lake - Dalpat Sagar Lake is a reservoir buit by the royal family 400+ years ago to harvest rain water. There is an old temple located at the center island that is approachable by boat. Island is also a recreation area in evening where one can enjoy sunset and musical fountains.

Chitradhara Waterfalls - Chitradhara Waterfalls is located just 19 km form Jagdalpur enroute to Chitrakoot Falls.

Mandawa Waterfalls - Mandawa waterfall is located at Mandawa off the NH-16 (Jagdalpur-Geedam road) at 31 km from Jagdalpur.At Mandawa, the stream of water flows step-wise and falls from a height of 70 ft to make a beautiful cascade called Mandawa Waterfall.

Kanger Valley National Park - Kanger Valley National Park is set at about 33 kms from Jagdalpur and is home to caves, a variety of wildlife and some waterfalls are set around it. Entry into the National Park is permitted form Netanar and Kotamsar barriers. Kanger Valley National Park is less recommended for wildlife enthusiasts and more as a nature centric excursion.

Chitrakoot Falls - Chitrakoot falls is also referred as the Niagara Falls of India and has got the distinction of being the broadest waterfall in India. It is about 29 meters tall and located 38 km from Jagdalpur. Tamra Ghoomar Falls (100 ft) is located near Chitrakoot waterfall is a relatively lesser known waterfall and is active primararily during monsoon.

Tirathgarh Falls - Tirathgarh falls are located at 38 km from Jagdalpur at the entrance of Kanger Valley National Park. The falls have a height of 100 feet. There is even a popular Shiva temple here having a backdrop of the waterfalls which is well visited by locals.

Kotumsar Caves and Kailash Caves - Kotumsar Caves and Kailash Caves are set inside Kanger Valley National park. Kotumsar Caves are one of the longest natural caves in the world (more than 1 km). Kailash Caves are relatively smaller and more recently discovered.

Kanha :

Bird Watching and Wildlife in Kanha - Kanha is one of Indias most renowned parks and visited for its population of Tiger, Barasingha and a wide range of wildlife (deer (sambar, chital, and barking deer plus barasingha), as well as the antelope (nilgai, blackbuck, chowsingha) and the gaur are found alongwith langurs, sloth bears, and wild boar) and birds (200+ species resident and migratory). Guests either stay on Kisli or Mukki side and explore park via Jeep safaris.
